In a sixty-page statement of reasons accompanying a federal judgment, Federal Judge John Gleeson provided a scathing review of the federal criminal justice system. Primarily attacking the mandatory minimum sentencing structure, Judge Gleeson claims that the Constitutional right to a trial has been nullified by the system in place and has led to a system which inflicts, rather than administers justice.
